This female was feeding at a Penstemon flower, in the early summer-(June 15). Most of the flowering plants have finished blooming now for this year, and that usually coincides with the hummingbirds having gone South, although some ( adult males), will often leave much earlier. There is still one ( juvenile female), that I see daily, but any day now that will end. Always special to see the first one in May, and then it's September, and rather disappointing when the last one is gone. Hopefully some decent images taken, as a reminder of  this years' Hummingbirds.

Province of Ontario, Canada, image- ( June 2023).

Great dynamic pose and feeding behavior, Paul. Interesting that you still have a juvenile around, I thought they leave a bit earlier.

Impressed that you got this shot at just 1/80s, Paul!

Beautiful bird and blossom Paul! Sad to see them go - but it must be lovely to see the first ones return in Spring.

a nice touch by having the wings soft like that, it shows motion in the take, well taken PAUL.

Thank for your comments, Axel. I have kept records over the years regarding arrival and departure dates, and usually there is a single Hummingbird here until the start of the third week in September, although I had a pair in my back yard briefly last October 3, which is very unusual. Observed one today Sept 17.

Very nice feeding pose, you have a great angle here. I think you could try to increase the temp a little to improve the greens in the BG, but not a big deal.
