Was on the boardwalk by the lagoon's edge waiting for the waterfowl to swim by - was focussed on a bonding pair of Common goldeneyes. Much to my surprise  this short billed gull lands on a tuft of grass and squawks away victory. Settling down soon on the mound it was a perfect subject for a closeup of its beauty. Steadied myself sitting down and resting the gear on the sidewalk railing was my quick option for a tripod. Image cropped by 25% to focus on the beautiful eye.

Eye see ;) Excellent closeup shot Ramesh and a good read as well. Funny how close some birds will get and how familiar they are to us humans. Excellent shot.

Awesome close-up - the touch of beak is the perfect eye draw to guide the viewer throughout the portrait.
