One of the most aggressive animals we observed in Kenya is the hyena.  Hyenas will sometimes chase lions from their kill to get a meal for themselves. We encountered several during our safari, mostly roaming the desert. Yes, their front and back legs are different lengths.

They are truly tough predators and will oft be seen successfully chasing off Lions. Lot of enmity between the two. Super sighting Ed.

You certainly got the hyena's attention and I also like the soft light, Ed.

A lovely angle and image of the largest of the four Hyena species - the Spotted Hyena. A much maligned and tough predator - a real survivor! Nicely done Ed.

Very nice soft light for an Africa image and low shooting angle ( I assume you were in a truck?) Great species.

Wonderful head-on view with great eye contact. I like the one ear twitched back too, and the walking pose. Couldn't be better!
