PTE AV Studio 11 exe or MP4 file?

For those using this slideshow program to view projected HD presentations from your computer, is there a quality difference in viewing between publishing an .exe file vs. a MP4 file? The exe file creation is quick vs. the MP4 file but not sure this is an indicator of photo quality. Thank you.
