The Popped Balloon Nebula or LBN576, is another tough one to image. It sits in the middle of a star field so to emphasize the nebula, I reduced the stars. This image represents 20+ hours of data on a colour Astro camera using a dual-band narrowband filter to enhance the hydrogen(red) and Oxygen(green/blue) by excluding other wavelengths. Shot with a Skywatcher ED80 telescope and ZWO294MC cooled to -10 celsius. Processed in Pixinsight, Capture One and Affinity Photo.
I like how it resembles a popped balloon with the side appearing to be blown out.

I'm with you and also like how it does resemble the popped balloon. Brilliant work Scott!

Appropriate image for the times, as we have several recently popped "balloons" here! :) Spectacular, as usual.
