Porcupine In Tree

Yesterday we went out looking for photo subjects. It was cloudy, foggy, and sometimes sleeting, so conditions were not ideal. However, one time I looked up and saw this round, dark ball in the top of tree. It turns out to be a porcupine sleeping in the treetop. We rarely see porcupines out and about. Exposure was difficult due to the white, overcast sky and back lit dark subject.

Remember, a little mild insanity keeps us healthy

A lovely behaviour capture, Ed. I like the way its tucked itself into the join of the branches almost like its held in a large upward turned hand.
