This little hawk haunted our bird feeders for several weeks. All the birds went into hiding except the Blue Jays. They pretty much ignored this immature hawk's attempts at capture- even though it gave chase over and over again. I don't think it ever caught a Jay-I had to wonder if it got anything else to eat. The Jays are about the same size as the hawk, and sometimes the chase went the other way! It doesn't seem to be around now-I hope it didn't starve!

It looks (and sounds) like this youngster has a lot to learn about hunting technique, Cindy!  That's some crazy action pose you caught here, no doubt a more streamlined swoop will come with experience. :)

Nicely done!

Carol.
