I got the following response from MPB

Hi Mike,
Thank you for reaching out. Original packaging is not required nor does it add value. But you are welcome to send it in.
If our Product Specialist reviews your items as a higher grade from Excellent to Like New you will see an upgrade in your quote.
Do you have any further questions? and would you like to proceed?

In my switch from DSLR to mirrorless I have used MPB a lot. I used KEH in the past, but find they don't pay well. So, I, like others, highly suggest MPB.

I just had another transaction with MPB and they actually upgraded the amount they paid from the quote once they received the gear . Again, I could have probably gotten more money in a private sale but it would have taken much longer along with the associated headaches of private sales or auction sites like eBay. The ease and speed of a transaction with MPB is definitely worth the 10% or so more I might get...

Last month MPB upgraded my quote as well.  Great company to deal with.

E.J. & Ed,

That's excellent news.  I recently purchased a 17mm Laowa for my GFX50s from them a month or so ago.  That was my first purchase from them and it went so smoothly; received the lens and it looked and worked as if it was new.  Saved me $100's compared to buying new thru B&H.

I also had a very good experience selling gear through MPB. The quoted price was higher than Adorama and KEH, and they agreed with my assessment of the condition. The funds were in my bank account within a few days.

I live in Canada.  My experience with MPB is that I was able to complete their forms for selling and purchasing equipment and was able to get a quote but while completing everything to finalize the order I was able to complete all the paperwork until I got to the courier line at which time I was told they could not courier to/from me providing me with no explanation. After chatting and emailing with them they let me know they do not accept equipment from Canada. What a waste of time.

Now that I have vented, if anyone has a viable alternative for Canadians I would be glad to hear it. Thanks in advance.

Just wondering how much does the Canon 500 f4 II in excellent condition sell for these days on the used market?

Looks like in the $5000 - $6000 (USD) range from what I'm seeing on line
