I think that’s the most disappointing review I’ve read of any new lens. He points out a lot of very disturbing issues. Hopefully, it’s a pre-production issue because I’d be upset if I’d spent that much money.
Wow, some serious issues with that lens - I'm thinking that it actually had a problem but it does bring back memories of the original version of the 200-400 which just could not produce a sharp image at longer shooting distances. Some of the stuff could be addressed with F/W changes like the lack of on lens control of the VR mode (for example they could make the lens buttons optionally control that) and many replace their lens foot anyway (this was clearly made for sports shooters that primarily use a monopod).Scott Fairbairn wrote:I think that’s the most disappointing review I’ve read of any new lens. This combination has finally swayed my decision to switch to mirrorless, and have placed my order for both a Z9 and the new 400 Z,david fletcher wrote:And weighs 2.9650 kgs. Also supports the Z1.4 and Z2.0 extenders. Shipping date 17.02.22 as at Nikon site.
The 400Z is an awesome lens, I've had it for over a month or so, actually since it started shipping!Marc wrote:This combination has finally swayed my decision to switch to mirrorless, and have placed my order for both a Z9 and the new 400 Z,david fletcher wrote:And weighs 2.9650 kgs. now begins the process of selling my 500/4, 400 f/2.8E, D5, and a host of others, leaving me still with the D850, 180-400 and the 70-200E.
Way to go Marc. (I'm still waiting for my Z9 and 100-400 orders to be fulfilled... the 800 PF intrigues me also so can see that at some stage, but supply here is not good).Marc wrote:This combination has finally swayed my decision to switch to mirrorless, and have placed my order for both a Z9 and the new 400 Z,david fletcher wrote:And weighs 2.9650 kgs.
