I have been using CCleaner free version for years and like it a lot.  For the past many months it has been driving us crazy with popups upon computer start up advertising their paid version and other items like Avast.  It is so annoying that we can't easily close the popup without clicking through a page or two.  So, is there an alternative to CCleaner that is reliable and not so annoying.

You can easily turn all of those pop-up off by not running it in the background and only running it on demand. Just remove it from your start-up items.
