Does anyone know why the ability to enter AF microadjustment values is still supported on the Nikon Z6/Z7 and Sony A9?

To enable the user to override the factory programmed AF behaviour for special situations.

On the Sony it is specifically for use with their adapters for A-mount that includes a separate PDAF module inside the converter. On others, see what Gary said.
