I have the Sony a7R III and the 200-600 Sony lens.
Anybody tried the teleconverter, if so what was the conclusion regarding focusing speed and image quality.
Thanks.

IQ is fine but stop down a 1/3 to 2/3 of a stop. AF works OK on static subjects or slower predictable moving objects on an a9 and a7R4 but an f/9+ aperture on an earlier camera like the a7R3 might not work well. Unfortunately I am not in a position right now to test it even though I have all of those pieces of equipment that you asked about.

Thank you. I might have to rent one for a weekend to try it out. Sometimes you need the extra reach, for example when we had the second only Northern Wheatear in 17 years, too far for a 600.

I’ve used it with that camera and lens as well as the A7riv(sold the A7r3 now). You’re down to contrast detect AF only at that aperture so it’s not an action combo but for other uses it’s fine. AF is slow and uncertain but with decent light it’s usable. It’s one of those things you probably have to try for yourself. I think it’s worth having in your camera bag though.
