Hi, I know of a few active European Badger Setts and really wanted to photograph the Badgers in an interesting way. I heard you could set up some kind of DSLR camera trap to try and get some good images. Currently I only have the Canon EOS 1200D with a short 50mm lens, and I don't have huge amounts of money to spend. Does anyone have any suggestions of what equipment I need and where I could source it?

I suggest you go and check out the setts before investing money in camera trap equipment. At this time of year. the badgers will be emerging before it is completely dark and you may be able to get shots without flash. When you have checked out the setts and decided which is the most promising in terms of photographic opportunities, come back with specific questions and I may be able to help.

I have just tested the Setts with a trail camera and they’re active but unfortunately don’t come out until dark.
