Lost my LR6 Stars

This is silly. I've been using LR for years. Yesterday after I did some unknown-to-me step the star ratings in my lower panel disappeared so that I can no longer rate new images with a star rating. I cannot figure out what I need to do to bring them back. Any suggestions?

Click the arrow on the right end of the tool bar and select "Rating" from the drop down list. If the tool bar is not showing, hit the "T" key.

Clicking the arrow at the end of the image row simply moves the images. There is no arrow at the end of the tool bar. Hitting T does nothing.

Went back and tried again. Found some options. When I hit "sorting" the stars returned. Thank you for the lead.
