Wolfgang, that piece of software was just released so you couldn't really have run across it much sooner than 3 weeks ago.

The GTX 10XX series is very good, I use a 1080 myself.

They say that AI Sharpen primarily was trained to detect blur while AIClear is optimized for noisy images, see #13 of their FAQ:

Thank you very much, E.J.  I think I will have a closer look at the GTX 10XX hoping that it will physically fit into the Asus p8p67 MB without being blocked by any parts of the MB and work with my configuration, of course
