By the look of it I don’t think Sony has a lot to worry about. At least it is good that Canon has come up with a mirror less body and some lenses.

It claims world’s fastest auto focus and that DIGIC 8 processor “enhances” IS in conjunction with certain lenses.

5 fps in AI Servo doesn't cut it for me.

Well there are a few areas where this exceeds the latest Sony offerings but for the most part you are right:
-6 Ev AF is way better than Sony
-Way more AF points than Sony using their very good dual pixel AF system
-23mm Eyepoint is way better than Sony if you wear glasses
-fully articulating screen
- Menu system is 10 million times better ;)

Since Canon is saying nothing about the tech in the sensor as far as I can see, one has to assume this is just the old 5D Mk IV sensor which is a good sensor for Canon standards but mediocre at best against the competition. Like Nikon, it boggles my mind that in 2018, when faced with the chance to design a completely new system from the ground up, they opt for a single card slot.  And Canon is essentially alone in not supporting sensor based image stabilization...

I believe that's just video stabilization.
As for AF system speed, find me a mirrorless camera where the manufacturer does not make that claim :D

I read somewhere that it uses indeed the 5D MIV sensor but can’t recall where I read it!

One thing I just realized is that Canon is now juggling 4 different mounts: EF, EF-S, EF-M, and EF-R...

DPReview first impressions video - they basically call it a mirrorless 6D Mk II with the 5D Mk IV sensor...

On page 32 and 33 (section 13.1) of the white paper, it explains more about IS.

On page 32 section 12.3 of the white paper, the drop-in filter mount sounds interesting.
