Nik coming back under DXO - maybe not!

DXO is now in the European Equivalent of what we call Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the USA.  That's the one that allows you to reorganize while not having to pay your debts.  More often than not this sort of thing ends up in either another company buying the Chpt. 11 company or turning into Chapter 7 bankruptcy which is liquidation to pay off debts and permanent closure.

How disappointing. Many of us were looking forward to NIK suite staying current. I use it a lot so I hope it keep working with PS CC.

That's nice to read but I wouldn't expect them to say anything other than they expect their product to remain viable.  I'd love to purchase their software but have a hard time believing it won't just die off shortly.

I don’t use DXO - just noticed this and thought it was pertinent.

Oh, it’s definitely pertinent and I appreciate you posting it. I hope they live up to their words.

I love the Nik suite. I hope to keep using it (for free) for a long time!

It will be available in about a week for approximately $50 and be fully compatible with all of the latest OS and Photoshop/Lightroom incarnations.

Thanks E.J. Will this an upgrade for the current NIK suite or will this just be a purchase price for people who don't already have NIK?

Since the current Nik Suite is free, it's the price either way as I understand it.  I could be wrong though :)

I'm happy to give them 50 rather than have it disappear into oblivion.

Well, I have been having more and more issues when using NIK as a plug in. It has been crashing and crashing my system about 30% of the time I try to use it. If the "upgrade" fixes this for $50 I am in.

The first thing that DxO needed to do with Nik filters was to fix the UI scaling problem with high-res screens, but they haven't, so it is still unusable.  The old Google version still works for me in the latest version of Photoshop, albeit on a lower resolution monitor.

Could you be more specific on "high-res" and "low-res"? What exactly is the resolution you're referring to and the monitor that you're using?
