Teleconverter screws loosening often

Am I the only one who finds it necessary to tighten the screws on both sides of my teleconverter every week or so to prevent excess "play" in the contact of converter-to-lens and camera-to-converter?
This is primarily related to tripod shooting with 500mm f/4 + 1.4x converter on a Sony a99ii body.
I am wondering how others deal with this issue?
[ul]
[li]What screwdriver gives you maximum leverage on these tiny screws? [/li]
[li]Is there any risk of overtightening and stripping the threads? [/li]
[li]Would Loctite (blue) provide a more lasting solution?[/li]
[/ul]
Many thanks for your suggestions.
