I also am a fan of Briggs and Riley. You will pay, but they make good stuff. I’m nervous of using cheaper bags for fear of catastrophic failure at the wrong time. Silly of me. For a carry on for US Airlines, for regular baggage stuff, not photo equipment, I recommend their Baseline domestic upright garment bag. Works great on US full size jets, too large to be a carry on for some foreign airlines.

I bought the ultralight Travel Pro Luggage. I would not recommend it. I am in the airport almost every month leading tours. 60% of my flights I have damaged wheels on my luggage. Replacing the wheels a few times cost more than the luggage itself.

Ultralight luggage saves me to constantly paying for fines for exceeding 50 lbs.

But the trade off is less protection.
