Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Travel and Culture Gallery, week ending 30th November, 2012!Trying for a little different view of this mill. There is really only one view to shoot this mill since it is private property all around (it is for sale though
). Part of me doesn't like the obscured spillway, but there is no way around it to shoot an angle like this.
A larger version may be viewed
here.

Nicely done, Ben, and good to know you're still kicking.
Haven't yet made a trip up north to your neck of the woods, but intend to do so soon.

This works. You took what you had and made a nice composition, and the balance of snowy light tones and earthy warmer dark tones works well. Nicely done.

Very nice -- what does a good used mill sell for these days?

Very picturesque and I love the nostalgic mood here.

Thanks all!
Tom, yes, I am still kicking, just always too busy. You should have come up for fall colors at Pewits. I might know a guy that knows the place.
Gary, no clue what it going for. Need a new hobby?

Sure Ben, I figure charging photographers a buck a click would be a good source of income year round.

Nice image, Ben! When was it shot? The water level looks a lot higher than when I was there this fall...
(My eyes keep getting drawn to the red branches in the foreground, but I can't decide if that's a feature or a bug...
)
Re: for sale: They're asking something in the $200-250K range - I don't recall the exact amount. That includes the mill, dam, land on both sides of the creek, and a 3 BR house. I was thinking it could be a good investment property - I could charge photographers admission to take photos from other vantage points - but then I realized how much liability insurance I'd need to cover intrepid photogs like Ben and decided against it...
