Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Landscapes Gallery, week ending 19th October, 2012!
Hi there,
My name is Christoph Fischer, and I joined this forum a couple of years ago for a rather brief time. I look forward to commenting on all the wonderful images here and making new friends!
I spent the month of September backpacking and photographing the spectacular fall colors and mountain ranges of the Yukon Territory in Canada's North, as well as the majestic mountain ranges and turquoise blue lakes of the Canadian Rockies. It was an amazing time and only reinforced my love and appreciation of the outdoors. Over the next couple of weeks I will share with you selected images from these wonderful travels and I hope you will enjoy them!
A scene of vast proportions, the foothills of Tombstone National Park's jagged mountain range, covered in amazingly colorful autumn tundra, glow as they are spotlit during a cloudy late afternoon. For a sense of scale, note the pine trees on the second ridge from the front. Tombstone mountain itself lurks ominously in the background, only to be pointed out by a short and serendipitous opening in the sky almost right above it.
Thanks for looking and any comments you may have!
