I'm trying to finish up a book and I want to include my name that looks something like a signature. What font you would suggest?

Try this site: http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=603

They have a nice selection of handwritten fonts to choose from and they are free to download.

Can you do a scan of your actual signature and include it as an image?

I can but I'm not that enthralled with my own signature. I'm just trying to avoid sampling 200 fonts before I get one that looks decent.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but how exactly do you scan your signature so it'll be against a transparent background in order to place on your web images? TIA.

Bill, in photoshop select file ->, new, then in the drop-down box for background select transparent. Then put whatever you want onto the second layer - a signature created with a wacom tablet, or a selection of just your signature from a scanned page.
