Fantastic shot Dan! I photographed this the other night, but it is nothing close to this quality. Question: how come it is all red with your setup? In my images the Horsehead is red, but the Flame Nebula is brighter and more pinkish orange. Your astro images are very inspiring. :)

My Radian filter just brings a lot of red to the images depending on the target. I can tweak a lot of color if I get enough integration time but liked the Red in this image. My M42 image from a few weeks ago is taken with the same filter but I brought out more SHO like color in that image.
Pixinsight is kind of a must for that processing as it has a lot of narrowband scripts and other features to make color camera images from color cameras a lot like Mono camera images. Filters for color cameras are getting close to Mono type filters as far as expanding the palette of color cameras.
I am only using my Mono setup on certain targets, the color camera processing features with the new filters are really improving and the old SHO blue and gold color palette that the Hubble scope made famous is falling out of fashion. The new James Webb images have a more RGB look to them.

Another stunning image, Dan. I don't pretend to understand all the technical aspects of this type of photography, but regardless, the end results are amazing!

Well titled. This looks rather menacing, interpreting it by shape and color. Superb work.
