A juvenile Audubon's Oriole and a female Cardinal having a small dispute at the Laguna Seca Ranch in deep South Texas.  1/5000 sec, f/4.0, iso 2000.  Photographed on 22 January 2025.

Large view looks better.

Great interaction Gene. Alan had told me he wasn't getting Audubon's at Laguna Seca. Nice to see they are showing up there now.

Great interaction Gene, I'm afraid the Cardinal is on the losing end of that squabble, Orioles ae a lot more aggressive.

Great one--It's interesting that when an Audubon's Oriole is near the food, it's pretty rare that any other bird will challenge them.  Even the obnoxious Green Jays leave them alone.

LOL yes, I like Orioles but they are feisty.

The eye contact between them is great. Really makes me wonder, too, what happened. That oriole has a sharp beak. Great interaction.
