Nikon D500, Nikkor 500 f/4 VR + 1.4x TC, ISO 400, f/8, 1/1000's

During our last trip to Tunkwa Lake, we took a day excursion over to the Lac Du Bois Grasslands, just north of Kamloops. In the Grasslands there are quite a few ponds, and we found this green water pond which was flat as glass. While laying low at the edge of the pond, this male Ruddy gave us a nice show.

Tim, The feisty pose is excellent. Well-done exposing the whites. A very low angle typically produces a more muddled reflection. A steeper angle will produce a clearer reflection. You might have considered standing up to help the reflection-or maybe you did.

Thanks Cynthia. Believe me, at 72 now, it is not easy for me to get low anymore either. With this new mirrorless OM System I hope to sit the camera on the ground and tilt the viewfinder so I can sit upright and look down into it. Only problem with that is it will not work as well with the more skittish species.
