An interesting article about the firestorm winds created by the Jasper fire;

Jasper has reopened for visitors....
With a caveat that many areas of the park are closed ( eg maligne valley)....and that accommodation in town is NOT available.
Nearest accommodation is about an hour east.

Some hotels have reopened (eg Fairmont Jasper Lodge and the former Sawridge)...however availability is extremely tight as most accommodation is being taken up by remediation workers.
As a result, rates are very high....

I was just through Jasper and Banff 2 weeks ago and virtually everything in Jasper NP was closed off. Sunwapta Falls was open as was the Columbia Glacier tour but that was about it 2 weeks ago. And yes the rates for everything from Lake Louise to Canmore are very high.

Maligne road has reopened as of yesterday Oct 11...however the canyon area remains closed.
Sunwapta falls, Athabasca falls, Columbia Icefield, Pyramid/ Patricia Lake, Miette, Old Fort point and Lake Annette are all open.
Marmot Basin is expected to open mid November for the ski season
Much of the area west of the Icefields parkway remains closed.
