Scarlet Tanager (m)
Piranga olivacea

Striking, (if not outright stunning), in their breeding finery, male Scarlet Tanagers transition from, um, Scarlet to a much more sedate yellow for the off-season.  I caught this one in transitional plumage.

Natural light

Full Disclosure: I did get rid of an offending twig in the UL corner.

Comments and suggestions welcome

Lovely pose and detail - and I think its rather nice to see the different season plumage colour for a change, Craig.

Interesting color variation. It must be a juvenile. Great image.

I like that you included some leaves into this image, not lots but enough to make it not look as a bird on a stick (image) nice details as-well CRAIG.

Excellent capture here, Craig, certainly not an image we see very often of a Scarlet Tanager in this plumage.
