I remember shooting with a Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 about 20 years ago - it was a super versatile lens.  This is a good addition for Canon shooterS and the first 300/2.8 by any manufacturer for mirrorless system.

Probably an excellent and tempting lens. However, a price of 12000.-€ (here in Germany) for a 100-300mm zoom certainly is insane for many photogs. That said, it's probably primarily targeted at professionals and agencies shooting indoor sports. If you already own a RF(EF) 70-200mm/f.2.8 and RF 100-500mm/f 4.5-7.1 (or even EF 100-400mm/f 4.5-5.6) you might be better set for nature photography including wildlife. Admitted, it's certainly very versatile with the option of using extenders, too.  But it remains to be seen, how much the IQ (sharness and contrast) is affected with the 2x Ext, at least. I guess they will also release a lighter RF version of the popular EF 200-400mm/f4 +1,4Ext at a comparable price tag if you don't need f2.8 and are willing to spend that much money.
