I'm beginning to look for a new multifunction inkjet printer capable of 11x17 or 13x19 (preferable) that can be used as a general purpose printer with scanner that also makes good photo prints but who's ink doesn't clog when not used for a week or more.  The challenge in this area is that this is the sweet spot for low balling the purchase price and making up for that by selling expensive and small ink tanks that, now adays, are locked to just their inks.  I had an Epson WF-7620 that fit the bill nicely except that the print head was easily clogged if not used often so a printer like that isn't desirable for me.  Pigment inks are preferred for higher end printers that get used a lot, but if the use is more infrequent dye based inks would seem preferable even if they are not ideal for long term stability from fading.

So, what's the best options now?

Thanks,

Brian
