Taken in 2011!

This Shoveler apparently landed in a large puddle near where I live-most unusual.  Probably a fall-out from an earlier storm. It stayed for maybe a day. (Terry Smith's recent photo reminded me of this event.

Love the colours and eyes in these. Very nicely taken Cindy. We are lucky to have them down here.

Great eye contact, good-looking specimen and inclusion of the habitat, Cynthia.

Thanks Axel. Not it's natural habitat, but it works, I guess. Just hanging out in a large puddle! ;)

Perhaps he was happier being king of his own puddle rather than being just one of the crowd in the pond, Cindy...... :)   Whatever the reason, this turned into a nice opportunity well taken.

A very nice image, Cynthia.... certainly a species that we don't see in photographes too often.
