Summer heat waves on the Canadian prairies often culminate in dramatic thunderstorms and living skies, as seen over the farmland near Caronport, in south central Saskatchewan.

The incredible lightening show from the distant storm lit up the sky continuously for nearly two hours. I shot hundreds of frames, and this one was by far the most spectacular.

The keen eye may even notice one of the lightning bolts arcing over the tip of a power pole!

Fantastic sight! What a spectacle-I hope no harm was done. Those clouds look pretty angry. I guess you can keep your distance on the prairie. Interesting to see above the clouds as well. Great shot!

Outstanding image. The clouds look like they are floating on water. This would look great as a large print.

Spectacular image. As others have related, it's interesting seeing the tops of the clouds and it makes the scene unique.

Thank you! I shot a couple hundred frames and it was fascinating to watch the clouds change into different forms. Much appreciated!

Not only excellent timing but also well composed, almost exactly complying with the rule of thirds.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

Thank you Jens. It was all about the sky that night, and I found the clouds almost as interesting as the lightning!
