Hello, My Facebook and 500px links on my profile page do not work correctly; when clicked, a new tab opens and an error message occurs on both of them.

I copy/pasted the correct URLs into my profile edit page; am I missing something?

Thank you!

Your facebook link works. The others show a double https address when you click on the address bar. Maybe that’s it.

This is what I am talking about. When I remove the first part, the sites come up.

Really strange. I've got the Facebook and 500px links working, but the LinkedIn one doesn't work no matter what I try. Seems as though the profile editing page (for this site) already has the "https://www." part embedded already, and you just add the last few letters of your social media URL into the box. This approach worked for Facebook and 500px, but not LinkedIn. Weird.

Now the address has two “in” s in it before “dean”:

I did abbreviate the challenge part that occasionally pops up.

When I log in to my LinkedIn profile, copy the URL, then paste it into the NSN profile edit page box, the entire URL won't paste. It seems as though the box only allows a finite amount of characters then cuts off the rest.

I give up.

One thing that seems to be missing is the “ca.” before “linkedin”.

The original purpose and approach of the social media links was to have users put their usernames -- and only the username -- for each of the services. (Unfortunately that's not well documented.) Then the system would put the bit before to build the full URL.

It's possible that LinkedIn has made changes since the social media stuff was first coded. Having said that, I tried it on mine and it worked for me. Not sure the "ca" bit in "ca.linkedin.com" is necessary. I can navigate directly to https://www.linkedin.com/in/dean-mcleod-7248911a5 which means "dean-mcleod-7248911a5" should work in the LinkedIn field.

Hope this helps.

Woohoo! Thanks so much; it works now! It was just a matter of finding the right snippet of URL to enter into the box. I was also entering the "/in/" and that didn't work.

Thank you!
