FENNESSEY RANCH APRIL 25, 2016

The Workshop:
Join Nate Chappell for a weekend workshop to photograph a great variety of birds on the Texas coast.  We will take a boat trip to photograph rookery islands of Roseate Spoonbills, Reddish and Great Egrets and Great Blue Herons and other birds.  On shore we will photograph rookeries of Black Skimmers, Tricolored Herons and Laughing Gulls as well as migrating shorebirds.  We will also visit the Leonebelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas, TX which is good for a variety of birds, fallouts of warblers are possible at this time of year.  And we will have a session photographing migrating Ruby-throated Hummingbirds which come to feeders.  Nate Chappell will give presentations on photographing birds in the wild, using flash for bird photography and converting raw images.

Cost and logistics: The cost of the workshop is $595 it includes all instruction, boat trip and property use fees.  It does not include accommodation, meals or transportation.  We have a group rate reserved at the Hampton Inn in Rockport-Fulton, TX which is the base for the workshop.  There are a limited number of spaces for participants from out of state to car pool with one of the workshop leaders.  If you are flying in from out of the state the closest airport is Corpus Christi, TX.

Fennessey Ranch April 25th: Spend a full day photographing at Fennessey Ranch.  The water holes which are in front of blinds here attract colorful birds such as Green Jay and Painted Bunting.  Barred Owls are regularly seen from the blinds here.  This is the height of migration season so just about anything could turn up.  Cost of the extension is $395 and includes instruction and property use fees.  It does not include meals and accommodation.  There are a limited number of spaces for participants from out of state to carpool with the leader.
