Same 50mp sensor but a lot of new tech.  Probably the biggest one for NSN shooters would be pre-capture. B&H has a page that summarizes and compares it to the other top-end Sony bodies:

Looks like a solid update, not sure about the price given that a Z8 or a R5 II are not too far from that feature set (the Z8 missing pre-capture in RAW is significant. I hope Nikon adds this via firmware update but not sure if technically possible.)

If I was a Sony shooter, I'd probably upgrade, the better AF, pre-capture and the new body are all good arguments in favour of that camera.

Yes, precapture in Raw, and the 30fps in Raw would put Nikon right on the same level. I keep hoping for a firmware update, but like you say, it may not be possible.
