Hi
I was shooting birds in flight and my R3 just froze. No autofocus nothing. When I switched the camera on and off all was fine.
This happened a few times. Once I had to take out the battery and put it back before it worked. I was in the sun at that time.
I was using electronic shutter on high speed continuous with 100-500 mm and 2X tc. Is this related to "over heating"or does this just happen?
Cheers

One thing that's possible is a lens to camera communication problem. Clean the contacts on both the lens and the camera with some Isopropyl alcohol. Also make sure the screws on the lens mount, both the camera and lens are tight. If those back out a bit, you can have some contacts that aren't being made properly. If neither of those take care of the problem, your gear may need servicing. In that case, if you have another camera available and the lens works perfectly on it, it could be the camera. If it does it on both than it is most certainly the lens.

It could also be a firmware issue, this was a common occurrence with the R5 for a few firmware versions. If the camera is not on the most recent version 1.8.0, I would update it to see if it makes a difference.
