Hi,

recently, I bought a Z8 and a few lenses.

Most (except the 800PF) come with a lens case (official term from Nikon's website).

See here for the 600PF:

This is very soft fabric, but I am not not sure if it is micro fibre.

Can I use that to clean the front lens?

Markus

Don't risk it. Micro fiber cloths are cheap enough to not risk damaging lenses or their protective cover glass with anything else. I've found that telephoto lenses usually aren't affected by dust unless it's really heavy or, possibly, pointed towards a strong light source. If Nikon intended it to be used as a cleaning cloth, I'm sure it would be described that way.

Absolutely not. As Joe said, get some microfiber lens cloths or the Zeiss lens wipes.

Thanks both Joe and E.J.
I was confused because the salesperson at the shop where I bought all my stuff said that I can use it but also admitted that he had not seen such a lens case before.
Glad that I asked. I will use my microfibre cloths and get some new ones as mine are already a bit old except the ones for my scope.

I will check out the Zeiss lens wipes.

Zeiss lens wipes are great, I use them for telescopes and camera lenses.
