I got off the upgrade bandwagon many years ago.  I finally bought the Canon 6D (version 1) when it was being discontinued, for $1,000 CAD.  Sat on the shelf for a few years until I finally decided to give it a try this year.  I will get the R5 eventually but for now, I use what works - for me.

Canon 6D and 500 f4 II on a tripod. ISO 16,000 at f/4 and 1/80.  As it came out of camera (noise-wise) with no noise cleanup.  Some sharpening.

Thanks Karl.  Right place, right time. I didn't have much room to move so I was stuck in the one spot.  A lot of obstructions so had to find an opening.  Then I had to set the tripod to the proper height.  Frame it.  Manual exposure was really important.  And if I had time, would have used a remote release and used a lower ISO.  But I had to get the shot while I could.
