Yes, that was a weird teaser. IF the camera turns out to be a 100 megapixels, then maybe the fashion shoot makes sense. But I think Nikon needs an A1 equivalent a lot more than they need a high meg camera.

Well, since the fashion industry is the number one consumer of Phase One 100 and 150 megapixel systems, clearly they think they need it

So out of curiosity, I did a quick Google and found this link on what cameras fashion photographers use:

Not sure how up-to-date it is. I'm sure it doesn't include all fashion photographers around the world.

And I'm pretty sure that even if all the 100 megapixel plus Phase One systems are bought by fashion photographers, it does not necessarily mean all fashion photographers use 100 megapixel cameras. Certainly those use Phase One have very good reasons for it. Or they could just be sponsored

It's probably because it's the only genre of photography that pays enough to allow those photographers to use them and actually still show a profit

Of course they do....it's so they can find all the blemishes that they can later photoshop out...

I hope for Nikons sake, they knock this one out of the park. If not for their large following and brand name, I'm not sure how they can survive in the industry.

A leak from Nikon India on Nikon Rumors.  What was interesting, was a reasonably good look at the 100-400 S lens that is expected to be announced with it.

  Just wish it had been a 100-500mm like Canon's.  400mm is just a bit too short for me.

They are supposed to be releasing a 200-600 at some point as it is on their roadmap.
