New Nikon Lenses Added to Roadmap

Glad to see Nikon staring to add some serious kit to the Z line.
Nikon really needs to drive home the advantages of such a large mount - Will be interesting to see how other developments like the rumoured 10-24mm F2.8 turn out.

I'd love that 600mm to be a PF version & f/5.6 but I expect it will be f/4. For me, the 500PF/5.6 is the perfect carry-everywhere birding lens but it struggles with the 1.4x (coupled the D500). And I'm using the 1.4x 90% of the time so a little more native focal length would be very welcome.

Boy it would be great if those were PF 400/4 or maybe 400/3.5 and 600/5.6 and designed to be sharpest wide open like the 500PF. Still get great bokeh and much smaller and lighter than an f/2.8 / f/4 combo.

That combo (500PF+TC14EIII) works very well with the Z7 for static shots. In fact I'm actually starting to use my TC20EIII with my 600E again with the Z bodies -- a combo that I long since abandoned shooting high resolution DSLR's. If the Z7 II closes the C-AF performance gap with Nikon's DSLR's my days as a DSLR owner will be over for good.

Nikon is a little late to the party but I expect to hold onto their system and fully move to their mirrorless lineup. I have faith it will be worth the wait.

I hope so too. I watched a video the other day; I can't remember who, maybe Northrup? Anyway, they showed a graph of Nikon's stock value, and how it's plummeted in the past couple of years. They also mentioned that Nikon is reusing a lot of components in the Z6/7 updates and how that paralleled Olympus's decisions in their latest models before exiting the camera business. They suggested the same thing might happening with Nikon. I can't see that happening, but Canon looks like they are going all in and Sony has become a force. Nikon seems to be lagging right now and they've never seemed to me to be quick at doing anything.
Having said that, I am holding out hope on the Z7 II and have pre-ordered. If it wasn't for the 500mm PF that Nikon has, I probably wouldn't be shooting with their gear, but I love that lens.

Brian - I have not completely made the jump to Nikon Mirrorless (Z7), I still have 2 -D850 bodies - one I am selling and other I use exclusively with my 500mm PF - But now I have all three of the Z-mount s-line f/2.8 zooms covering 14 to 200mm, next on list is to replace my 105mm macro with z-line when it gets released. Can't wait for better info on how the z7 II focus compares to D850 and to find out what Nikon long z-mount lens lineup will look like. Love the improvements in the z-mount lens
