Anyone have any idea what would make a Canon 1DX2 body drain the battery overnight while in the off position?  The batteries aren't new but they hold a charge fine when not in the body.
Firmware up to date, GPS shut off etc.  Camera set to power off after 1 minute.....

Likely an internal short of some kind in the camera :( or perhaps the battery got mixed up with another one and it was fully discharged when it went in.

Bummer.  I have two batteries and it does the same with both.

Noted that with a lens on and leaving it in the "lock" position rather than the off it for the moment seems to hold ok.

Not quite sure what your last post meant but if it doesn't drain with a lens on and it does with no lens on, then either your lens cap has some metal or other conductive contamination (unlikely) that is shorting some of the contacts or there is some significant issue, likely in the lens mount. I'm guessing this camera is going to take a trip to Virginia for repair...

I'm afraid so E.J.  Still holding at 99% with it attached to my 400 DO and on hold.  Bet if I turn it off it will start draining.

Sorry, sounds like a short as E.J. mentioned. Only time I had dead batteries with an off camera were when leaving aTC attached, which Canon told me is normal.
