A lot of Sony shooters have this lens and may not realize when lens FW updates are issued since there is generally not good communication of lens FW updates unless you are a member of Sony Pro Support.  This fixes an occasional issue where an a73 or a7R3 might not properly initialize the lens.  I have shot with this lens for two years and have never had that happen.

To do a Sony lens FW update, download and run the installer and follow the prompts.  The FW update is done through the camera being attached to the computer with the lens attached to the camera.
