Nikon finally announced their full frame mirrorless cameras - no surprises, very much in line with the rumors

Z7 - 45mp available end of September, 493 PDAF points, 9 FPS, ISO 64 Base
Z6 - 24mp available end of October, 273 PDAF points, 12 FPS, ISO 100 Base
Both bodies are weathersealed, use new Expeed 6, have a 3.7m dot EVF, 5 stop IBIS, 4K/30P, 1080P/120P, compatible with Nikon accessories like flashes, etc.  Video is 10 bit!

Z lenses:
24-70 f/4 available end of Sept
35 f/1.8 avail end of Sept
50 f/1.8 available end of Oct
58mm f/0.95 available 2019
FTZ adapter for most Nikkor lenses available end of Sep
Battery pack - future.

Z-mount flange distance is 16mm making it a relatively easy to adapt most lenses on the market and it is 55mm wide which would even accommodate a cropped medium format sensor and should allow for optics that are very sharp into the corners.

The 500 f/5.6 PF lens was also officially announced available Sept. 14

No US prices announced as of this writing but the 500/5.6 is $4640 in Japan (pre-tax), the Z7 is $4K (incl tax) and the Z6 is $2475 (incl tax).  I converted these using today's exchange rate in the Forex app.

In an unusual move for Nikon, here is the official Z lens roadmap:

Yes especially since the a7R III is available in Japan for the equivalent of $2600 or Y282,440 but realize that 440000 price is inclusive of Japanese tax which I believe is 10%

Slightly different from the values I came up with using the Forex App but close enough.  Again, those are Japanese prices. Prices vary greatly in different geographies.  Also, as the live stream said, the camera bodies are inclusive of 10% VAT, the lenses are not.

Here's the size comparison to a D850...  It is 26% lighter.

MSRP in Canada for the 500 f5.6 is $8,500 cheaper than that of the 500 f4. Who the heck would buy the 500 f4? :-)

One thing I hate already - no USB charging.  I love that I don't need to travel with a charger for my Sony cameras.  Any USB port will charge them.  This camera uses a similar battery to what's in all Dxxx and Dxxxx cameras which means you have to pack a charger.  Virtually every other mirrorless camera on the market can be USB charged.

A CIPA rating of 330 shots is pretty lousy too compared to the a7R III

OK, that's good, but I can't charge all of my other compatible Nikon batteries with it so unless I want to buy a bunch of new batteries, I still need to bring the charger.  But I was wrong, if you use the new battery it can USB charge.
