Nikon announced that they are working on new updates for z series cameras including eye AF and support for CFexpress cards:

Who was it that gave me a bunch of crap when I wrote that Nikon would do a FW release to support CFexpress months ago? :D Not sure if it was on NSN or elsewhere.

Eye AF is an important competitive feature and nobody's implementation so far has touched Sony's so it's good to see them continuing the development. Sony is going to make it work with animals in there next version, will Nikon go straight to that???

I wouldn't hold my breath about nikon eye AF...they are continuing to develop it.  I am sure that more accurate C-AF needs to come first.

Here is a demo on still subjects, results weren't shown but it looks promising much like the Canon R but less than my 6 year old 77II.

Now how about doing it for the D500 and the D850. The DSLRS are as important as the Z series

Agree 100% Bob - lets hope the hardware supports it.
