If you are a nerd like me, you might find this interesting :D

These are all of the current Sony sensors available to third parties.  You can sometimes gain some insight into what's coming.  For example the availability of a 26mp APS-C sensor (already available in the Fujifilm X-T3) probably points to some new APS-C models upping their pixel count from 24 to 26.  In the 44x33 space, there is now a monochrome sensor, something that previously was only available in the larger 54x40 sensor so does this mean that we may see a Fuji GFX mono or maybe a Hasselblad X2D mono?

Curiously, the 36, 42 and 45 megapixel full frame sensors were left off indicating that all of those are proprietary designs to the company that is using it...

In any case, if youa re interested in this sort of thing, here it is:

I doubt the 36 is proprietary since Sony, Nikon and Pentax used it.

I don’t know much about medium format sensor sizes, but the monochrome sensors have been available in the Phase One IQ3 back(100MP). Leica has a 35mm monochrome only camera, but I don’t know the sensor manufacturer of that one.

Yes but they all have their own spin on the design.  They all use the same base sensor but the last couple of layers in the process are custom to each manufacturer - that is what I was referring to.
