Can anyone provide feedback of the auto focus and tracking capability of the Sony a6300 with the FE 100-400 GM OSS lens? I am considering purchasing this lens.  Thanks

I used the a6300 with the 100-400 Sony lens and found the lock on to be a bit on the slow side ,if the object was moving. I will admit that some of the issues I had were more than likely poor technique. If the background was clean the auto focus was good and would lock with AFC.

I have been using 100-400 with the a7Rlll and the lens is very sharp and works well with a 1.4 x extender- I would definitely recommend the lens.

It's actually pretty good if you have the AF system set-up properly.  On that camera use Lock On AF: Flexible Spot S.  You then move your spot to where you want and focus and the camera will move the AF spot anywhere in the viewfinder to keep the spot that you focused on in focus.  It works very well.  I have done quite a bit of bird photography with that combo including flight.  You will have to get used to an EVF and learn to lead the subject ever so slightly but with a bit of practice it works extremely well.
