Removing rubber feet from Gitzo tripod

Well, I feel a little dumb.  I wanted to remove the rubber feet or endcaps from my Gitzo GT5540 but have been frustrated thus far.  I tried unscrewing them, no joy.  I tried gently prying them off, no joy.  I tried just pulling them off, again no joy.  Does anyone have an idea how to remove these crazy things? Many thanks in advance.

They should unscrew. Many people put Loctite on the threads because they are easy to lose. They are normal thread, so counterclockwise as you look at the bottom end of the leg. A rubber strap wrench may help if you don’t want to damage them. They are replaceable with spikes, bigfeet, etc. If they are too tight, be careful not to damage the leg.

Thanks, Joe. I'll try a strap wrench. I can untwist the foot, but it seems to just rotate without being connected to the bolt, like it's just loosely fitted over the bolt head or something. Maybe the strap wrench idea will help.
