This new fluid gimbal head from Gitzo sounds interesting:

Looks interesting. Not that light though (4lb) or so, but would love to try it out.

According to this, it's 3 pounds. Not a lightweight, but I bet it's a great head. I've got two Systematic ballheads that lock with fluid, and they are really strong and of high quality.

No more die cast products for me. I have had a number of casting cracks develop over the years causing my gear to fall.
When weight is a non issue I use the C&C made RRS fluid gimbal

Andy Rouse posted this ballhead on his FB page. Granted he is advertising it but his video of it looked fantastic.....absolutely no image creep. It only weighs 1.5lb. I'm curious if there is one that is that solid, lightweight and as reliable as what I saw on the video.

The Uniqball shifts when you tighten it down. I tried one and didn't like it because of that.

I have no creep at all with my 600 II on the larger size Uniquball head.

At the risk of stepping on toes, I'll try to answer.

A CNC (Computer Numeric Control) tool is used in prototyping and full production for cutting, carving, machining and milling in wood, MDF, plastics, foams, and aluminum.

It generally means that the product is cut from a solid block of material. The machine is a wonder to watch as it cuts metal to shape in a very rapid manner and can produce hundreds and thousands of the final product in a very short period of time.

Hey Richard

Oh, thanks man, appreciate it. I had no idea what it meant. Sounds pretty slick.

He did but one of the designers of Uniqball has gone and made his own head, with no flopping forwards or backwards.

Can the NSN CLF - 456 lens replacement foot be attached to this gimbal head?
There appears to be a protruding screw in the clamp of the head preventing this foot locking into position. I am not sure if the screw should be removed.

You've got to be kidding over 1200 bucks for a RRS Gimbal, I bought the G-1 Kirk Enterprises gimbal for only $625.00 and use it with my Nikkor 600mmF:4G VR and there is no creep it locks down solid. Why does RRS cost so darn much?

I just come back to a gimbal for my hide work and took the Benro GH2, I know it is Chinese but at 280€ it it every bit as good as the Wimberley I used to have, and they now cost 650€!
