Many, including myself had wondered why Zeiss never updated the excellent 25mm f/2 to the new Milvus line when they did do that with every other lens in their ZF and ZE lineup for Nikon and Canon.  Now we know why!  They were working on an all new 25mm f/1.4 lens - on paper this is the best 24mm class lens ever made...

Are these 1.4 lenses easy to focus with prism DSLRs without changing the bright screen?

Yeah, it's no problem at all.  You still get the in focus/out of focus indicators since the lenses are fully electronically coupled.

It is a pound heavier than the Sigma 24 mm f/1.4 art but those aren't metal. It is very heavy though.

Why no Sony mount, I wonder? Especially since Zeiss are making lenses with Zony branding.

Zeiss has never made A-mount lenses - just cobranded lenses made by Sony.

As for E-mount, as you know, Zeiss has native designs rather than a DSLR design with a welded on flange (like Samyang does)
