My Sony 200-600 lens has a damaged rear seal gasket.  I have ordered, and I am waiting for, a replacement gasket from Ebay.

I am handy with tools. Can I install this myself?

Should I take it to a local camera repair shop?

Do I need to send this to Sony?

Thank you for any information.

Local shops aren't authorized to do repairs on any of the major manufacturer's cameras but you might find one that will do it anyway. I have not had to do that repair but if I did, the first thing I would do is to see if there is a Youtube video on how to do it and then decide whether I want to try or send it to Sony.
