While we were walking through Quebec, we stepped into a camera shop. I saw a Sirui 6 section carbon fiber monopod. I figured the exchange rate and bought it. I wonder fi anyone has used this item and can tell me what they think of it?

I use a monopod sometimes. Don't know anything about the monopod you bought but mine is a monfrotto and it's been working fine. My advice though is: get a monopod head. Some here have argued that you don't need one but I'm pretty sure you'd appreciate the flexibility it gives you.

I've got a Sirui tripod and am impressed by the quality/price ratio. It's solid and steady with the 500 f4 attached to a gimbal.

I guess that since I normally shoot sports, I am an unusual poster here.
